UNESCO/ICOMOS Advisory Mission Report

 

On Monday, 30 October 2017, a press conference was held concerning the results of the UNESCO / ICOMOS Advisory Mission, which took place last year between May 22nd and 25th. The mission which involved 62 participants from ten different institutions and the hearing of committees and associations, concluded with a report prepared by Isabelle Anatole-Gabriel of UNESCO World Heritage CentRE and Paul Drury of ICOMOS International (available here: http://whc.unesco.org/document/160848). The mission analysed the main working infrastructure, the management of mobility and waste and tourism flow. At the press conference regarding the results of The Mission, the panel included:
Isabelle Anatole-Gabriel, Head of the Europe and North America section of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre; Carlo Francini, site manager of the Historic Centre of Florence, World Heritage Site; Enrico Vicenti, Secretary General of the Italian National Commission for UNESCO; Matteo Rosati, program officer, UNESCO Regional Bureau for Science and Culture in Europe – UNESCO Office in Venice; Adele Cesi, National Focal Point for the implementation of the UNESCO World Heritage Convention – MiBACT ; Dario Nardella, Mayor of Florence.
