#Art4GlobalGoals and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals

The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations reinterpreted by the young German artist Leon Löwentraut, on display at Palazzo Medici Riccardi from 5 to 27 October 2019

The awareness campaign #Art4GlobalGoals aims to promote and raise awarenss for the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. The campaign was initiated by the UNESCO Special Ambassador and president of the YOU Foundation, Dr. h.c. Ute-Henriette Ohoven, in cooperation with the Geuer&Geuer Art of Düsseldorf and the well-known artist Leon Löwentraut.

#Art4GlobalGoals is supported by UNESCO and the Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The Florentine edition of the exhibition was possible thanks to the patronage of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany within the framework of the initiative “Non Farmi Muro!”, the Metropolitan City of Florence and Italian Alliance for Sustainble Development (ASviS), in collaboration with Palazzo Madici Riccardi, the Municipality of Florence, and with the operational support of the MUS.E Association.

The international traveling exhibition represents the 17  Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) or Global Goals, which have been re-elaborated in the form of artworks by the young German painter Leon Löwentraut in a unique and expressive way. 17 canvases, one for each of the 17 Global Goals, and to complement this sustainability cycle, the work “Sustainable Visions of Leon Löwentraut” from the “Different Minds” series is also on display in Florence, which had never been shown in an exhibition so far. The exhibition is held at the Sale Fabiani in Palazzo Medici Riccardi and can be visited free of charge every day from 9:00 am until 7:00 pm (closed on Wednesdays).
